KCCA celebrate Obenchan Filbert's goal against Bukedea Town Council

KCCA needed two second half goals to overcome Bukedea Town Council 2-0 at Lugogo and subsequently book a place in the round of 16 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

Following a goalless first half, defender Peter Magambo broke the deadlock for the Mike Mutebi coached side in the 63th minute.

Three minutes later, another defender Filbert Obenchan doubled the scoreline.

KCCA was joined by Big League sides Kitara FC and Light SSS as other teams who won their games on Saturday.

Kitara defeated Luweero United 2-1 in Hoima thanks to strikers Brian Mayanja Mululi and George Ssenkaaba.

Mayanja drew first blood in the 24th minute before Ssenkaaba made it 2-0 with a penalty in the 80th minute. David Kone pulled one back for the visitors two minutes to normal time.

Light SSS defeated Bugamba FC 3-1 in Soroti courtesy of Solomon Opito’s first half brace and John Otim’s free kick.

The three teams now bring the tally of the teams that have qualifed for the last 16 to 12.

Others are Free Stars, Dove FC, Mbarara City, UPDF FC, Maroons, URA FC, Tooro United, Proline and Wakiso Giants.

The round of 32 will conclude on Sunday with four games to be played.

Kajjansi United host SC Villa, Spartans host Kataka FC, Kyetume and Kigezi Homeboyz face-off in Kabale while Kiboga Young entertain Mvara Boys in Mbale.
