UGANDA CUP: Kambale late surge hands Express first leg advantage over Kyetume

Second half substitute Eric Kambale netted a late header as Express FC played out to a 2-2 draw away at Kyetume during a round of 32 Stanbic Uganda Cup first leg contest.

The Red Eagles head into the return leg with a 2 away goals advantage.

The hosts took an early lead in the 7th minute when Ezra Kaye headed home a quality Julius Ntambi cross.

Express FC restored parity in through John Byamukama as the two sides went into the halftime breather level.

Two minutes after the hour mark, Raymond Walugembe restored Kyetume’s lead with a superb header off Richard Matovu’s cross.

With the clock ticking, the 10 time competition’s champions levelled matters through a Kambale header. The latter had replaced Frank Kalanda.

By the end of proceedings the two sides had to settle for a 2-2 stalemate. The second leg of the tie is scheduled for this weekend at Wankulukuku Stadium.
