The Uganda Cup round of 64 resumed today with KCCA FC, Vipers, Police FC all picking victories to proceed to the next stage.

Patrick Kaddu scored a brace as holders KCCA eased past regional side Mbarara FC with a convincing 4-0 away win.

Kaddu opened the scoring with a diving header finishing off a well delivered Mustafa Kizza corner in the seventh minute.

Starlet Allan Okello shot from outside the box to make it 2-0 before Paul Mucureezi trippled the scoreline at the hour mark.

Kaddu found his second of the day in the 72th minute. He would have bagged himself a hat trick after being brought down in the box but failed to convert the resultant penalty with a minute to full time.

In Kasese, Vipers cruised past Bronken SC with a 3-1 win to earn a berth in the round of 32. Defender Asiku Bashir got the venoms into an early lead with tap from a corner in 8th minute.

Frank Zaga Tumwesigye doubled the lead finishing off from a Steven Mukwala back heel in the 27th minute. 3 minutes to halftime, Exavier Masereka pulled one back for the home side but Steven Mukwala stretched the lead again early in the second half.

New signing Daniel Muzeyi Serunkuma came off the bench to make his debut for Vipers in the 69th minute replacing Erisa Sekisambu.

A penalty from Ruben Kimera and a header from Ogik Norman ensured that Abudallah Mubiru’s Police FC edge Greater Masaka United 2-0 at the Masaka Recreation grounds.

In Mukono, Kirinya Jinja SS became the third AUPL side to exit this year’s edition after succumbing to a 1-0 shock defeat at the hands of Seeta United courtesy of an Ahmed “Ndieffi” Hassan strike.

Last year’s finalists Paidha Black Angels were defeated by Simba FC in a 7-6 penalty shoot out following a goalless draw in normal time at Gayaza Kabanyoro Grounds.

At Lugogo, Proline FC got a walk over as their opponents Nkambi Coffee FC didn’t turn up to honour the fixture.

The round of 64 stage concludes tomorrow with two fixtures on card. SC Villa plays hosts to Hope Doves in Masaka while Lungujja Galaxy welcomes Mbarara City FC at Wankulukuku.
