UBF : UBF calls for financial support ahead Juniors Boxing Championship

With only days to the 2019 National Juniors Boxing Championship that is due on April 29th to May 5th, 2019.

The Uganda Boxing Federation is facing a hardship of lack of funds to facilitate the event. Moses Muhangi the UBF President while addressing the Media revealed that they need Shs 100M to run the competition

“We are just remaining with days to the National Juniors Boxing Championship but we are facing a hardship of lack of money to facilitate this event. We need Shs100 million but as I speak we have no single coin and so we call upon all well wishers to come and give us a hand to see that we get the needed funds to run the championship.”

National Council for Sports are yet to release the money for this quarter but we shall look for possible ways to see that we get the needed resources.”

Muhangi also confirmed that all the 40 clubs affiliated to the Federation will take part and they expect to attract 600 boxers

“The Juniors Boxing Championship will comprise of boxers from 15-16 years and will come from the 40 clubs affiliated to the Federation. We expect to attract 600 boxers and we hope to have a successful event.”

Every participating club will get Boxing equipments like Punching bags fighting gloves with the overall winners walking away with a major prize.
