U20 Women World Cup Qualifiers: Uganda shred Kenya to take first leg advantage in Nyayo

Uganda U20 Women national team shred East African Neighbours Kenya 7-2 at Nyayo Stadium to take a first leg advantage in the 2022 African U20 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers.

Juliet Nalukenge and Sumaya Komuntale each netted a brace with skipper Fauziah Najjemba, Margaret Kunihira and Shamirah Nalugya scored the other goals for Ayub Khalifa’s coached side.

Shaylene Opisa scored the two goals for Kenya who will now need to score 6-0 to progress.

The return leg will be played on October 8th, 2021 in Kampala.

The winner between the two East African countries will face the victor between Mozambique and South Africa in the third round.

Khalifa’s charges will be seeking to advance to the 10th edition of the FIFA U-20 Women’s showpiece that will be staged in Costa Rica from August 10th to 28th next year.
