Following the uncertainty hovering around the availability of Mandela National stadium, CAF have confirmed that the first leg of the U17 Women World cup qualifier between Uganda and Cameroon will be hosted at St. Mary’s Kitende stadium on 31st October 2020.

Uganda’s biggest sport cathedral was declared by the government as a center for treatment of COVID 19 patients.

This will be the second time that Kitende is used for CAF international assignments, the first being a CHAN 2018 qualifier between Uganda and Rwanda.

The match was played on a Saturday of 12th August 2017 and Uganda emerged victors with a 3-0 score. To date, Derrick Nsibambi who scored the 3rd goal remains the last player to score an international goal at the revamped venue. Muzamir Mutyaba scored twice on the day.
