SC Villa have completed the signing of defender Nasser Lukwago on a two-year contract, Swift Sports understands.

Lukwago finally put pen to paper after successful negotiations with the 16-time league champions.

There has been a need to strengthen SC Villa’s central defense department that only had Asuman Alishe, Moses Kiggundu and youngster Kizito Gavin Mugweri.

The Edward Kaziba coached side tried to sign Derrick Ngoobi and Farouk Katongole from Bright Stars and Tooro United respectively among others but no compromise was reached since then.

Lukwago is a former player at Kiyinda Boys and Masaka City in the Buganda Regional League.

The utility defender is a household name in the Masaza Cup having featured for Buddu between 2017-19.

In fact, Lukwago captained Buddu to a fourth-place finish last season before he agreed terms to join Gomba in this year’s edition which remains uncertain.

Lukwago is a graduate of Information Technology from Uganda Martyrs University Nkozi, a side he also captained in the University Football League.

He joins goalkeeper Meddie Kibirige and Geoffrey Goffin Oyirwoth as the players that have so far signed for the Jogoos.
