SC Villa are in advanced stages of signing left-winger Cosea Waiswa on a two-year contract, Swift Sports sources reveal.

Waiswa is seen as an ideal option for Duncan Seninde whose move to the Jogoos fell through in the eleventh hour.

The league record holders wanted to sign Seninde who officially left Vipers last week but failed to agree on terms of a possible move.

Waiswa has been playing for UPL new entrants MYDA FC and played an integral role in the Tororo based club’s promotion from the Regional League (third tier) and lately to the top-flight.

He scored two goals as MYDA FC gained direct promotion to the UPL when last season’s Big League was eventually ended due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

Waiswa guided Bukedi Province to the 2019 FUFA Drum final where they lost to the eventual winners Acholi on penalties.

He has also previously played for Super Cubs Soccer Academy and had stints in both the Buganda (Kyadondo) and Busoga (Bunha) Masaza Cup tournaments.

As earlier reported by this website, SC Villa already agreed terms of a two-year contract with striker Isaac Ogwang “Falcao”.

The club has so far unveiled goalkeepers Meddie Kibirige and Martin Senkooto, midfielder Geoffrey Goffin Oyirwoth and former Express left-back Andrew Kiwanuka.

The Edward Kaziba coached side also signed center back Nasser Lukwago on a two-year contract.
