SC Villa are in the final stages of signing goalkeeper Meddie Kibirige who is currently a free agent since the end of last season.

Kibirige featured for Tooro United (Soana FC) for the last four seasons before his employment contract expired.

Swift Sports has learnt that SC Villa are on the verge of signing Kibirige who has also been heavily linked to joining Wasswa Bbosa’s Express FC.

Kibirige had a stellar season despite Tooro’s relegation

Kibirige is touted as a replacement of Samson Kirya who has already agreed terms with Wakiso Giants.

He is set to compete with Saidi Keni for the club’s first choice spot as the club hopes to sign a third goalkeeper.

Kibirige is a league winner with Vipers in the 2014/15 season and has previously featured for Aurum Roses, Bazar Holdings and Mutundwe Lions.

Last season, Kibirige saved two penalties in a match where Tooro United stunned KCCA 1-0 in Fort Portal and was subsequently named the man of the match.

He also features for the national beach soccer team The Sand Cranes.
