Uganda Police FC have completed the signing of goalkeeper Thomas Ikara.

Ikara put pen to paper on an employment contract that will see him feature for the Cops for the next two years, Swift Sports understands.

The lanky shot stopper spent the entire last season on loan at Mbarara City from KCCA where he was deemed a surplus to requirements.

Ikara appeared in 20 league games for the Ankole Lions and kept 10 clean sheets conceding 17 goals.

He was set to join URA FC but the deal fell through in the eleventh hour with the Tax Collectors opting for Maroons’ Hannington Ssebwalunyo instead.

Vipers SC are the other side that have also been in the race to sign Ikara who chose Police in pursuit for playing time.

He now joins the Police goalkeeping department that already has Davis Mutebi and his understudy Alfred Ginyera.

Ikara previously played for Kirinya Jinja SSS (currently known as Busoga United) before crossing to KCCA in January 2018.

He becomes Police’s fourth signing after Tony Mawejje, Mohamood Hassan and left back Eric Ssenjobe.
