Express FC will have to beat competition from Police FC for the coveted signature of Onduparaka defender Muhamood Hassan, Swift Sports understands.

Both Police and Express are keen on signing the versatile defender whose employment contract with Onduparaka came to an end with the climax of the concluded season.

Express’ head coach Wasswa Bbosa has already shortlisted Muhamood Hassan as one of the new recruits he wants at Wankulukuku.

However, Police FC have also expressed interest in the lanky defender as they embark on preparations for the forthcoming 2020/21 UPL season.

Sources reveal that Police FC coach Abdallah Mubiru is a great fan of the defender who is also a specialist in set pieces.

It should be noted that it was Wasswa Bbosa who handed Muhamood Hassan his first league appearance at Express in the 2016-17 season.

After bursting onto the scene with the Red Eagles, Muhamood Hassan joined rivals SC Villa who were by then under the tutelage of Bbosa at the start of the 2017-18 season.

In January 2018, Hassan moved to Onduparaka in search of sufficient playing time and subsequently became a mainstay in the famous green jersey of the Arua outfit.

He made his Onduparaka debut in a 1-0 win over BUL and scored his first league goal in April 2018 as the Caterpillars obliterated Police 5-0 at Namboole.

In January this year, Hassan returned to Onduparaka after missing the first half of the concluded season citing delayed salary payments by the club.
