Kenya Premier League side Western Stima FC are set to complete the signing of two Ugandan players Ashadu Bugembe and Derrick Tekwo, Swift Sports has learnt.

Both players are currently in Kenya ahead of the imminent move to the Kisumu based outfit.

Bugembe is a goalkeeper who has previously played for Masaka LC, Kira Young, SC Villa, Maroons FC and BUL FC all in the Uganda Premier League.

His compatriot midfielder Tekwo last featured for Tooro United last season but he has in the past played for URA FC, Express FC, Kitara FC and notably the now defunct Kira Young.

The duo is set to join fellow Ugandan and defender Junior Mukisa Joseph who will serve as the team’s skipper in the forthcoming season.

Western Stima have embarked on conducting trials after losing 13 players from the squad that competed last season.

They finished seventh with 36 points accumulated from 23 games played when the league was called off due to the COVID-19 outbreak in the country.

The 2020/21 Kenya Premier League is tentatively scheduled to start on Friday 20th November with AFC Leopards hosting Western Stima.
