Express FC are interested in signing Kyetume FC goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa whose one year contract with the Mukono based side is bound to expire.
Mutakubwa joined Kyetume at the start of the 2019/20 season and played an integral role in the club’s survival.
Swift Sports understands that Express FC head coach Wasswa Bbosa is desperate to sign a goalkeeper to beef up his goalkeeping department and has identified the highly rated Mutakubwa.
Sources reveal that Express under Bbosa, are willing to let go of youthful custodians Tonny Kyamera and Joshua Adea to usher in Mutakubwa.
Mutakubwa played a total 19 league games for Kyetume and won the Man of the match accolade in five games (twice against Proline, Police, Wakiso Giants and URA) more than any player.
His impressive exploits in the league elevated him to the national team set up. He was part of the Uganda Cranes team that excelled at the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup last year.
In case Mutakubwa completes a move to the Wankulukuku based side, he will be reuniting with coach Bbosa whom he worked with at Tooro United a season ago.
Express FC have already signed winger Godfrey Lwesibawa who put pen to paper on a two year employment contract.
