TRACY JONES AKIROR : Crested Cranes skipper leaves for USA

Crested Cranes captain and Kawempe Muslim midfielder Tracy Jones Akiror has officially left the country for USA.

Akiror will join Seminole State College where she will be studying and playing football for the next three years.

The 2018 FUFA Award nominee will reunite with her former Kawempe Muslim and Crested Cranes teammate Yudaya Nakayenze who is also purseing her studies at the same college.

Akiror leaves the Kawempe Muslim team after winning four consecutive Women Elite League titles between 2015- 2018.

She was named the League Most Valuable Player (MVP) in 2018 after guiding the school side to their fourth championship.

Akiror has captained the Uganda senior female team in the 2018 CECAFA championship in Rwanda, the 2018 COSAFA tournament in South Africa as well as in the 2020 Olympics qualifiers.

She will also join other Ugandan players who crossed over to the US in the recent past, Sandra Nabweteme and Joan Nakirya at Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) and Sandra Nantumbwe who is at Redlands College.
