TPL: Okwi intensifies scoring form with a brace

Emmanuel Okwi continued firing in all cylinders with a brace as Simba SC thumped Alliance FC 5-1 in the Tanzanian topflight league.

Prior to this encounter, Okwi had scored in the 2-1 win against Africa Lyon earlier on and Stand United 3 days ago.

The Uganda Cranes forward started upfront alongside John Bocco and Muhammed Ibrahim as Meddie Kagere sat out on the bench.

Defender Murushid Jjuuko made his second appearance since April and partnered Pascal Wawa, Nicholas Gyan and Asante Kwasi.

Okwi opened the scoring at the national stadium in Dar es salaam with only 10 minutes played before Asante Kwasi made it 2-0 at the half hour mark.

He scored his second 15 minutes into the second half before Adam Salamba and Clatous Chama completed the rout in the 70th and 87th minute respectively.

Khamisi Zabona pulled one back for Alliance FC inside the 3 added minutes.

The brace takes Okwi’s tally to four goals this season and 6 in his last 5 games for club and country.
