By: Danito Nsubuga

UPDF will today host Kirinya Jinja S. S in their bid to beat the drop. Their only victory came at home when they beat Express and if they are to get back on track, it should be today against Kirinya Jinja S. S, a side they also edged 1-0 last season at Bombo.

Steven Bogere has not won a game for UPDF since taking over from Moses Basena, he has only managed a point when the hosted Vipers.

They will have to negotiate this fixture without first choice goal keeper Harrison Ssempagi and striker Walter Rubankene but the positive news is that full back Isaa Mubiru is available after missing the previous two games.

Kirinya Jinja S. S have picked 9 points from their last 5 fixtures contrary to UPDF’s 1 from 5 outings.

Head coach Steven Bogere has rallied to his troops to react early if they are to survive relegation. He said,

” I call upon my boys to toughen up now, that all our opponents are winning their games, we are almost close to break off for the first round and things get trickier in the second round.”

UPDF sit at the bottom of the log having only managed to collect 6 points from 11 games, whereaa Kirinya Jinja S. S are 8th with 14 points.
