Tooro United labour to earn automatic promotion after edging Kigezi Homeboyz

Arua Hill also confirmed their automatic qualification place from the Elgon region after beating Paidha Black Angels 4-0

Edward Golola has guided Tooro 0United to bounce back to the top flight league of Ugandan football after doing the bare minimum of beating Kigezi Homeboyz by a goal to nil.

Top scorer Marvin Oshaba scored the all important goal as the “Entare za Tooro” struggled to overcome a very resilient Kigezi Homeboyz side.

It was the young striker who was fouled in the forbidden area and the referee made no mistake but order for a punishment to Kigezi Homeboyz.

Oshaba exhibited the calmness of a seasoned assassin and guided the ball into the net on 27 minutes.

His 9th goal of the season sent the game into the compulsory break with Tooro in the lead.

Oshaba almost extended Tooro’s lead on 70 minutes when he controlled the ball in the area but his final touch went just inches past the woodwork.

From then on, the match became a one sided affair with Kigezi pumping forward, throwing everything in their power at Tooro.

Unfortunately for them, the closest they got to clinching a leveller was in the 80th minute when Dickson Niwamanya fired a long range shot towards goal but it only kissed the top bar and went out for goal kick.

In due course, Kigezi suffered their 6th loss of the season which consequently saw them relegated to the 3rd division.

They join Terrazo and Tiles as the two teams relegated from the Rwenzori group.
