Tonny Mawejje officially unveiled at Al Arabi SC

Ugandan midfielder Tonny Mawejje has been officially unveiled today at his new Al Arabi SC in Qatar.

The experienced Uganda Cranes international joined the Qatar moneybags earlier this month on a two year contract.

Mawejje has previously featured at Masaka LC, KCCA FC, Police FC, URA FC, IBV Vestmannaeyjar (Iceland), Golden Arrows (South Africa), Haugesund in Norway, Valur and Throttur FC both of Iceland and lately Albanian FC Tirana.

He has won 68 national team caps since his debut in 2004, scoring eight goals. He also played at the 2017 continental showpiece in Gabon.

Al Arabi Sports Club, is a Qatari sports club based in Doha and was founded on 1st April 1952 ( 67years ago).

The club hosts it’s games at 13,000 seater Grand Hamad Stadium, where they have played since their establishment.

They are coached by former Iceland national team head coach Heimir Hallgrimsson, last season, they finished 6th on the table of the Qatar Stars league.

Al Arabi SC has seven league titles, eight Emir of Qatar Cups, one Qatar Crown Prince Cup and six Qatar Sheikh Jassem Cups
