Pacesetter Vipers welcome relegation threatened side Express at St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende in a contest whereby both sides can’t afford to lose more points.
Vipers are currently top of the AUPL table standings with 59 points collected in 28 games and two points separate them with second placed KCCA FC.
Express on the other hand things are not going the right way for them and are at the negative end of the log and are 14th on the table with 28 points in 28 games.
Vipers comes in this contest after being held by Kirinya 1-1 in their previous game at Bugembe Stadium whereas Express also played out to a goalless draw with rivals Villa in their last league game.
Vipers : DWWWW
Express : DDLDW
Vipers is the dominant side in this fixture as to their previous 24 league meetings, won 11, lost 8 and the rest have ended in draws. They have also lost only twice to Express in the last 15 encounters and won 7. Vipers edged Express 2-1 when the two side met in the first round at Wankulukuku
Dan Sserunkuma who faces his former side told Vipers website that this game is like a final basing on the ambitions between the two sides, he says,
“It’s like a final because we want to win the title and we are facing a team fighting to beat the drop. But we are in very good spirits and not under pressure like people think.”
The trio of Dan Sserunkuma, Erisa Sekisambu and Milton Karisa is expected to light up Vipers attack.
The visitors will miss the services of Alfred Leku and Joseph Ssemujju who are ineligible to face their parent club since they are on loan. Michael Birungi will also be out due to card accumulation.
Isaac Kisujju and Davis Mayanja will be the players to provide magic to the Wankulukuku outfit.
A win for Vipers will extend their stay at the summit whereas Express can move out of the red zone with victory.
