Tikolo declines to renew contract as Cricket Cranes head coach

Uganda Cricket Cranes head coach Steven Tikolo has chosen not to renew his employment contract with the Uganda Cricket Association.

Tikolo who was appointed in 2016 leaves the position after three and half years.

Davis Turinawe a former Under 19 coach will replace him on interim basis. The new coach is expected to be named by the end of February

According to the UCA letter signed by the Chief Executive Officer Martin Ondeko

“Tikolo has chosen not to renew his contract with the Uganda Cricket Association.”

His contract was due for renewal and negotiations have been ongoing with Steve to stay with us especially after the success in Oman in December 2019.”

Unfortunately, he has made a personal decision not to extend his stay with us despite our interest to continue with the relationship.”

He is credited for winning the ICC World Cricket League Division 4 tournament in Malaysia in 2018.

Uganda will be hosting the Cricket World Cup Challenge League B second round.
