Soana FC among the perennial mid table teams of the Uganda premier league but this hasn’t been an easy season for them having only managed 5 wins so far.
Head coach David Katono Mutono reiterates that if his side are to avoid a further sleep up, they have to strengthen in the key areas, they have already lost forward Baker Lukooya to Kenyan outfit FC Leopards in this window. He says,
“We have to strengthen our striking department and creative force since these are the same areas where we have lost key players in Baker Lukooya and Owen Kasule.
The Soana tactician also calls upon his employers to find an assistant to help lessen the burden on his shoulders. Since taking over from Shafiq Bisaso whim he deputied, he has been working with no assistant.
“At the end of the first round i requested my bosses to find me an assistant to help me in the coaching department. I believe this will improve the club’s performances come the second round since at a moment i have been the only person carrying out the coaching duties.” Added Mutono.
He acknowledges the need for toughening up from all the departments of the team since this is the second and final round of play which every team will come out fighting and it won’t be easy picking points.
“We expect a tough second round because many clubs are going to strengthen their squads. I personally believe if my players manage to work hard then we shall cope with other clubs so as to end the season in better positions.
David Katono Mutono’s side currently sits 10th on the log, 5 points above the drop zone and this gives him an onerous task come the second part of the season.
