Tanzanian giants Simba Sports Club are set to make Uganda Cranes midfielder Khalid Aucho their first signing in the ongoing transfer window.
Aucho, who on Friday announced his departure from Egypt’s Misr El Makkasa, is expected to pen a two year contract with Simba.
As earlier reported by this website, the Tanzania champions entered talks to sign the Cranes midfielder as a direct replacement for Jonas Mkude who is expected to leave the club.
The workaholic central midfielder has also been a transfer target for Yanga SC and Azam FC but sources reveal he has been convinced by Simba’s offer.
At Simba, Aucho will team up with his compatriot Taddeo Lwanga who has been an integral figure since his move from Egyptian side Tanta SC early this season.
Ever since he made his senior debut eight years ago, Aucho has played an integral role in the Cranes jersey raking 50 caps and scoring two goals. He represented Uganda in the 2017 and 2019 AFCON in Gabon and Egypt respectively.
At club level, he has played for Simba FC (now UPDF), Tusker, Gor Mahia, Baroka FC (South Africa), Red Star Belgrade and OFK Beograd (both in Serbia) and Indian sides East Bengal and Churchill Brothers.
