Ugandan Swimmers were impressive during the 4th edition of the CANA Zone III swimming and open water Championships held in Khartoum, Sudan. Uganda was represented with 10 teenage swimmers and managed to collect 36 medals, 12 gold, 8 Silver and 16 bronze.
Joseph Kabogoza the head coach of the team was full of praise to his beleaguered youngsters and also called upon for Government intervention.
“It was such a great experience for me working with this team and I am proud for the performance of the team.”
Our performance was generally great but we could have performed well in case we had more swimmers but few represented due to lack of enough funds.
“Those who represented the nation were funded by their parents, I therefore call upon the government to give us more support.” Stated Kabogoza.
