Swift Sports Uganda awarded at the 15th edition of FICTS Festival

Swift Sports Uganda was awarded with the TV and Weblog award at the 15th Kampala Sports E-Motion International FICTS Festival held at Tal Cottages in Rubaga.

The award

National Council of Sports General Secretary Dr.Bernard Patrick Ogwel graced the closing ceremony on Wednesday evening. The three day event started on Monday and climaxed on Wednesday.

Ogwel commended the organisers led by FICTS Uganda President Dean Kibirige and pledged NCS will full support of awards.

“I take this opportunity to thank the organisers for continuously organizing the event.” I congratulate the winners in various categories and pledged that National Council of Sports will continue to support the event.”

FICTS Uganda President Kibirige hailed Swift Sports for their commitment towards the development of Sports in Uganda which saw the website being named as the best in the land

“I congratulate Swift Sports for the magnificent job they are doing towards the development of Sports in Uganda.” We are in a global village and so websites are of a great benefit to the sporting industry, Swift sports has done a tremendous job and they deserve to be rewarded.”

Said Kibirige.

Entries from Germany, Japan and Uganda outcompeted the rest to emerge winners with two out of four Uganda’s entries emerging as winners.

Other winners were Joshua Cheptegei – Tourism Promo” produced by Uganda Tourism Board in the Sports Advert Category.

Refugee Heroes the Road to Tokyo” – which emerged winner in the Olympic Spirit/Games Category.

“Against all Odds – From Wheel Chair to Athlete” – which emerged winner in the Sport & Disability Category.

Uganda Broadcasting Services football commentator Peter Otai won the Andrew Patrick Luwandagga (APL) Mentorship Award.

Otai who was nurtured by the late Luwandagga is now the head of UBC’s Sports Radio Station – Magic 100 FM. He also gone on to be named as the best Football Commentator for East & Central Africa (CECAFA) as well as the best Uganda Premier League Commentator 2017 and Uganda Cup.
