Super sub Aheebwa strikes late in Mbarara City win over Police


Super sub Brian Aheebwa scored a late winner from a Solomon Okwalinga well delivered cross to inspire Mbarara City past Police FC at Kakyeka Stadium.

Aheebwa came on for youngster Ivan Eyam five minutes into the second half on the game.

This was Mbarara City’s first home game at Kakyeka Stadium upon approval early this week.

The slim win moves The Ankole Lions to the eighth position with 29 points from 21 games.

Police are 13th, one position above the relagation zone with 22 points from the same number of games.

Mbarara City will be back in action on Valentine’s day at Kakyeka Stadium hosting FHL in the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

Police FC who are already out of the Uganda Cup will have to wait until Tuesday 18th February to host Bright Stars at Lugogo in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
