Struggling Police keep survival hopes alive with win over URA

Police FC picked three priceless points after defeating URA 2-1 at Ndejje University and subsequently moved out the relegation zone.

The Cops are now 13th with 25 points from 25 games after displacing Maroons who have 24 points.

Forwards Derrick Kakooza and Ben Ocen scored for the Cops while Hassan Kalega Gaata was on target for the Tax Collectors.

Kakooza drew first blood in the 10th minute before Kalega Gaata equalised five minutes later.

Daniel Isiagi missed a penalty moments before Gaata’s leveller following a foul on Michael Birungi in the box.

Ocen won it late with 10 minutes to normal time to register his 12 goal of the season.

Ocen together with Fahad Bayo, are one goal shy of the leading scorer Steven Dese Mukwala of Maroons.

URA remain 5th on the table with 40 points accumulated from 25 games.
