Steven Sserwadda sent off in slim victory over Atlanta United II

Steven Sserwadda was sent off in the 74th minute as New York Red Bulls II beat Atlanta United II 1-0 in the USL Championship match played in the wee hours of Thursday.

Sserwadda who was playing his second game of the new season, was shown a second yellow for another bookable offense.

The former KCCA winger had already been booked for a foul in the 64th minute.

This was Sserwadda’s sixth game since joining New York Red Bulls II last year from Uganda Premier League side KCCA on a two year contract.

New York Red Bulls scored their goal through their lead striker Jordan Smith Adebayo six minutes before Sserwadda’s sending off.

Atlanta United also had a player sent off after defender Aiden McFadden was shown red in the 19th minute.

Sserwadda will depart USA to join the Uganda Cranes camp for the Navruz Cup to be played in Uzbekistan between 25th to 29th March.
