Yunus Sentamu scored a late winner as Vipers beat Kigezi Homeboyz 1-0 in a round of 64 tie played on Monday, February, 21st at the Kabale Municipal Stadium.

Sentamu broke the hosts’ resilience in the 83rd minute with a thunderous strike to send the holders into the round of 32.

The contest was supposed to be played in January but was postponed since Vipers had players on the National team during the time.

Vipers could have scored more but forward Cesar Manzoki was a culprit for missing a golden opportunity midway into the second half.

New signing Bob Olouch was handed his debut when he replaced left back Disan Galiwango at the start of the second period.

Vipers failed to break down a resilient and well organized Kigezi Homeboyz defence in the first half.

With just seven minutes to normal time, Kigezi resilience was broken when Sentamu struck for the visitors.

Vipers will now take on Kalongo United in the round of 32 on Saturday 26th February.

Meanwhile, action in the round of 32 continues on Tuesday as Mbale Heroes host NEC FC at the San Siro grounds in Mbale whereas Luweero United welcome Ndejje University at Kosovo grounds.

Wakiso Giants will take on Big league side Kyetume at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in another round of 32 tie.
