Stanbic Uganda Cup: KCCA, Onduparaka and Mbarara City make it to the round of 32

KCCA FC progressed to the round of 32 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup after a 2-1 win over Busia United on Sunday.

First half goals from Gift Ali and Charles Lwanga were enough to send the joint competition winners to the round of 32.

Dauda pulled one back for the home side deep in the second period of the contest.

Ali fired the visitors into the lead in the 37th minute with a superb strike before Lwanga doubled their advantage at the stroke of halftime.

Dauda gave the hosts a lifeline when he pulled one back in the 70th minute but his goal was not enough as the 10 time Stanbic Uganda Cup prevailed to the next round.

Meanwhile in Paidha, 2016 finalists Onduparaka cruised to the round of 32 after humbling Paidha United 3-0.

Gabriel Matata scored a brace while Nathan Oloro struck the other as the Arua outfit advanced to the next round with a comfortable win.

In Bushenyi, Mbarara powered past Six O’clock 2-1 to seal a place in the round of 32.

Jude Ssemugabi and Seiri Arigumaho scored the visitors while DavidOjok pulled a consolation for the home side.

KCCA FC, Mbarara City and Onduparaka join URA FC, Gaddafi FC, Wakiso Giants, Ndejje University, Busoga United, Luweero United, Police FC, Rusekere Growers, Tepa and Booma FC into the round of 32.

Action in the round of 64 will resume on Monday as Ateker FC host Lugazi Municipal FC in Soroti whereas Soroti FC will welcome UPDF FC.

The other game will see Jinja North FC host Maroons FC in Jinja.
