STANBIC UGANDA CUP : Kayanja sends Bright Stars to semi finals

SINAN RAJUB SENOGA

Bright Stars became the first team to book a place in this year’s semi finals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup after edging Nebbi Central 1-0.

Youthful striker Brian Kawalya scored the lone goal at the stroke of halftime to ensure a difference at Luo stadium in Nebbi.

The hard-drilled victory means Bright Stars will play in the semi finals of the domestic cup for the first time in their history.

The Fred Kajoba coached men had eliminated URA with a 2-1 victory at Namboole while Nebbi Central had edged Nkambi Coffee with a slim 1-0 win in Nebbi.

Bright Stars will be joined by either Wakiso Giants or Kyetume FC who face off at Mukono in the second quarter final on Sunday.

Express will then play against BUL FC at Wankulukuku on Monday before Proline FC hosting last year’s losing finalists Vipers at Lugogo on Tuesday.
