STANBIC UGANDA CUP: Four star Vipers wallop Plascon to storm the last 16

DANIEL NSUBUGA

In what proved to be Michael Ouma ‘s biggest victory so far since taking over from Javier Martinez, Vipers SC have overseen big league minnows Kansai Plascon to book a place in the last 16 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

The new tactician named a second string side handing rare starts to fringe players like Aggrey Madoi, Tom Masiko and Rahmat Ssenfuka

The visitors showed early signs of submission when defender Desmond Kyobe connected towards his own net in the 17th minute.

8 minutes later, sleek defender Halid Lwalirwa returning from a shoulder injury also registered his name onto the score sheet to send the game into halftime with Vipers with a two goal cushion.

Soon after resumption, Abraham Ndugwa extended Vipers lead with a superb finish, and the same forward sealed the lead in the 74th minute.

The venoms join Onduparaka, Kyetume, and URA   in the round of 16 to continue their quest for a 2nd successive final after losing the previous one to KCCA FC.
