Ssimbwa, Nalukenge named best of January in Fortebet Real Stars Awards


The winners for the Forte Bet Real Stars Sports monthly awards for the month of January were awarded on Monday morning at Copper Chimney, Lugogo.

On the same event the director of Real Sports agency Isaac Mukasa confirmed Forte Bet as the title sponsors of the awards

“Forte Bet have joined us today as our new sponsors joining Jude Colour Solutions who have been with us since we started this journey.” The awards will now be called Forte Bet Real Stars Monthly awards.”

Isaac Masembe was named as the Forte Bet Real Stars Sports monthly awards Boxer of the month of January.

Masembe who won four fights with two KOs during the National Olympic trials beat David Ssemujju and Nassali Doreen to claim the accolade.

In football, Uganda Women U17 skipper and Kawempe Muslim forward Juliet Nalukenge beat URA FC duo of Saidi Kyeyune and Rwothomio Cromwell to scoop the footballer of January gong.

Nalukenge was a key pillar for the Uganda U17 girls team as they eliminated Ethiopia to advance to the second qualification phase. She also scored against Tanzania in the U20 Women World Cup Qualifiers.

URA FC head Sam Ssimbwa was named coach of the month, he edged Bright Stars’ Paul Kiwanuka and Ayub Khalifah of Kawempe Muslim and Uganda U17 Girls team head coach.

Scot Olouch of Heathens walked away with the Rugby Player of the month of January award. He overcame Joseph Oyet and David Ssemwami.
