New York Red Bulls have signed New York Red Bulls II Ugandan midfielder Steven Sserwadda on short-term loan ahead of Saturday’s match against Toronto FC, the club announced on Saturday.
The Ugandan international will be available for the Red Bulls MLS regular season match against Toronto FC on Saturday, June 18th.
Sserwadda, is currently in his second year with NYRB II and has made 14 USL Championship appearances for the club. He has made 10 appearances this season and has total of 862 minutes played. He made his senior national team debut on March 25 against Tajikistan.
Following Saturday’s match, the Red Bulls will face off against New York City FC in the 2022 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup quarterfinals at Red Bull Arena on Wednesday, June 22.
Sserwadda joined New York Red Bulls II from KCCA FC ending his six year period at the Lugogo based side.
At KCCA, he won the Cecafa Clubs Cup, and one Uganda Premier League, two Super Cups as well as a Super 8 cup.
During the 2021 AFCON U20 tournament that was held in Mauritania, Sserwadda scored two goals for the Uganda Hippos as they finished runners up behind eventual winners Ghana.
