Ssenyonjo scores four as KCCA hand Kitara 20th defeat of the season

Sam Ssenyonjo score a four goal haul against Kitara and took his season tally to 10 goals.

Teenage striker Sam Ssenyonjo stole the show as KCCA thumped the already relegated Kitara FC 6-2 at the Masindi Municipal Stadium.

Ssenyonjo scored four goals while debutant Andrew Kawooya and substitute Charles Lukwago grabbed one apiece.

Ssenyonjo opened the scores in the 6th minute with a header from Juma Balinya’s cross.

Kitara fought back and levelled the scores in the 27th minute through Vicent Kasoki before Nathan Oloro gave them a surprise lead with his 10th goal of the campaign three minutes to halftime.

Youngster Kawooya who was playing his game in KCCA colors since making a move from Vipers, tied the game with a lob past the Kitara goalkeeper Emmanuel Opio nine minutes into the second half.

Ssenyonjo restored KCCA’s lead four minutes later before Lwanga made it 4-2 for the Morley Byekwaso coached side from the penalty spot following a handball in the box in the 62nd minute.

Ssenyonjo complete his hat trick in 65th minute before adding on another one which was KCCA’s sixth of the game three minutes later.

The 18-year old striker has now scored 10 goals this term and became the second KCCA player to hit double figures after Lwanga who now 11 so far.

The defeat was Kitara’s 20th of the season. The league debutants have now conceded 80 goals having managed to score 35 in return. They have only won thrice and managed four draws garner 13 points.

KCCA who remain fourth have now collected 48 points and will face Wakiso Giants in their next game on Wednesday at Lugogo.

Kitara will visit URA at the Arena of Visions in Ndejje on the same day.
