President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has given a greenlight to Sports activities to resume after 186 days since they were closed due to the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic in the country.
Museveni banned all Sporting activities on 18th March, 2020 but has finally allowed them to resume but with strict restrictions.
“Sports activities allowed to resume without spectators.” We shall watch on television, teams can play we watch from far.”
Players are to be tested for coronavirus pandemic for 72 hours before and every after 14 days, they are supposed to have retake of tests.”
“Teams should be quarantined for the whole season of the competition. ” Museveni revealed during the 20th Presidential address on Covid-19.
Indoor sports activities like Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton and Netball remain closed but will only be played on outdoor courts. Casinos, gaming centers and cinemas also remain closed.
