Ugandan winger Martin Kizza has revealed his ambitions at his new South African club Royal Eagles FC.
Kizza opened up his scoring account at Royal Eagles last week against JDR Stars and hopes more brilliant performances come his way.
” I want to perform better in every game, score more goals and help my team by the end of the season. The few games I have played so far have already drawn attention of a number of suitors which motivates as a player.”
Kizza told Swift Sports.
The former SC Villa and KCCA left winger was named man of the match for his tremendous exploits in the match that ended 2-2 at The Giant Stadium in Pretoria.
” You see playing in a foreign league is a bit challenging and comes with a lot of sacrifices. You have to give in 100% both in training and on the pitch irrespective of your performance in the previous game.” He adds.
Kizza has so far scored one goal, assisted one and won a man of the match accolade in the four games he has played for Royal Eagles since switching from Free State Stars, another second tier club last month.
Just like any other player, Kizza hopes to return to the national team fold very soon.
” I also want to return to the national team because I didn’t get play so many games for it. I was fortunate to get a chance but i wish to work hard so that i am given another opportunity to represent my country. I am aware it comes with hard work but I’m also confident I will attain that as my next target.”
Kizza previously featured for the Uganda U23 team but has also been on the fringes of the senior team. He was part of the Cranes squad that represented Uganda in the 2016 CHAN held in Rwanda.
His club Royal Eagles are tottering on the negative end of the GladAfrica Championship table with 15 points from 22 games.
Kizza and teammates will return to league action on Saturday 29th against Moloka Swallows.
