Soltilo Bright Stars condemns KCCA to sixth league defeat

KCCA FC suffered their 6th defeat of the season after falling 2-0 to in form Soltilo Bright Stars at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

Second half goals from Samuel Kayongo Ssekamatte and second half substitute Joseph Akandanahwo inspired Soltilo Bright Stars to maximum points at Lugogo.

Ssekamatte gave the visitors the lead in the 67th minute with a superb free kick before Akandwanahwo doubled their advantage ten minutes to normal time.

KCCA FC were the dominant side in the first period with Herbert Achai having his effort from the free kick hit the lower post.

Steven Sserwadda forced Bright Stars custodian Simon Tamale into a fantastic save off a superbly taken free kick at the stroke of halftime.

Joseph Marvin had Bright Stars best chance of the half but his shot kissed the cross bar. The two sides went into the tunnel goalless at halftime.

In the second period, Charles Lwanga and Gift Ali both came close but couldn’t breakdown a resilient and organized Bright Stars side.

KCCA FC stay in fourth place with 37 points and 10 adrift of leaders URA FC while Bright Stars who registered their first victory at Lugogo and 9th win of the campaign move to 6th place with 33 points.
