Soltilo Bright Stars beat Villa to earn only second victory of the season

Danito NSUBUGA

If they are to stage a remarkable comeback from the ruins of relegation, Soltilo Bright Stars will have to produce more performances like the one they have done against SC Villa this evening at Kavumba.

It wasn’t your fancy performance but it was one needed by the hosts in their bid to protect their Premier league status.

The most decisive moment of the match came in the 10th minute of the second half and the 55th of the match when Marvin Joseph Youngman met a superb pass from Nelson Senkatuka to give Simon Mugerwa’s men a lead.

Mugerwa was facing his former paymasters having worked as Douglas Bamweyana’s assistant at SC Villa 3 years ago.

The first half was played at a low temple but Villa should have gone infront but thanks to Simon Tamale’s heroics, the game went to rest at level terms.

The three points earned only help Soltilo Bright Stars close in on 13th placed Onduparaka by touching distance of 2 points. The Caterpillars will visit Busoga United tomorrow.

Villa remain 10th on the log with 15 points and they will hope to bounce back on the 7th of January when they host UPDF at Njeru.

Bright Stars will visit defending champions Express FC on the 8th of January at Wankulukuku
