Solomon Walusimbi strike against Kataka draws Maroons closer to safety

Maroons Football Club registered a slim 1-0 victory over Kataka Football Club at Luzira Prisons grounds.

Solomon Walusimbi scored the sole goal in the the game that saw the Prison Warders move to 17 points and closer to safety from relegation.

However, Maroons can be relegated on the final day if they fail to win and Calvary and Mbale Heroes win their respective games

The goal scorer attributed his team’s victory to God in a season that has been so difficult.

“It has not been an easy season with so many challenges. I will always be grateful for every time I pull on this short and scoring the all important goal is a big honour “.

“Focus is now turned on the most important game of the season and I know we shall emerge victorious and secure our place in next year’s Big league season “.

Kataka Football Club remain in the fourth position with 18 points.

Maroons will climax the season against Blacks Power on Sunday 13th-June at Luzira Prisons grounds while Kataka Football Club will visit Mbale Heroes at Mbale Municipal Stadium on the same date.
