An early goal from former skipper Willy Kavuma left Express to ponder the implications of another ruinous defeat in a bewilderingly traumatic season.

Soana handed the Red Eagles their third consecutive 1-0 loss but also the 8th of the season, an equivalent number to the total defeats Express had the entire last season.

After trailing in the first minute of the game, Express pushed for a leveller through Mike Birungi and Nigerian Promise Mpkene but Joel Mutakubwa in the Soana goal rose up to the task.

The second half  saw Bisaso’s men exert more pressure on the home side only but Dan Serunkuma, Ndihabwe, Sekayombya and Baker Kasule all missed out on finding the back of the net.

The greatest condemnation for the 6-time champions was failing to convert a penalty late in the second half – Joel Mutakubwa reflexed nicely to parry away Dan Serunkuma penalty which then resulted into a corner.

Soana moved a spot higher to the 11th position with 16 points whereas Express remains in the drop zone (14th) with only 11 outings.

After the CECAFA break, Soana will pay a visit to BUL FC while Express will take on Vipers at Wankulukuku on Tuesday 19th December
