Uganda’s Jas Mangat and his navigator Joseph Kamya currently leads after his astonishing performance on day one of the Shell V-Power Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally.
Mangat (Pilipili Rally team) posted 51mins 22seconds to take the lead on the wet Pearl Rally.
2011 Pearl of Africa Rally champion Ponsiano Lwakataka finished second with 51.51 while Duncan Mubiru Kikankane was third in a time of 52.40.

Mike Mukula Junior was fourth in a time of 54.17.
The rally was however disturb by heavy downpour. The last stage was cancelled due to limited time.
“We lost a lot of time due to wet roads and we couldn’t find the rhyme. We did not comete the stages today but we are committed ahead of tomorrow.”
Stated Mangat.
Mangat won the 2013 Pearl of Africa Rally and will be aiming to reach the fate this year.
Kenya’s Karan Patel one of the favourites to clinch this year’s event did not finish after he went into a ditch but will return to action on Sunday.
