She Mak annihilate Gafford Ladies 6-0 to clinch Elite League title

Makerere University 6-0 Asubo Gafford Ladies

Makerere University female side thumped Asubo Gafford Ladies 6-0 in the final to win the 2021/22 FUFA Women Elite League title.

This was a final between the best team from the Elizabeth and Victoria group respective. Both teams had already won promotion from the Elite League to the Super League.

Sharon Namatovu scored a hat trick while veteran striker Winnie Babirye together with Jemima Twesigye and substitute Rebecca Nakasato added on the other goals to complete the rout.

Namatovu was on target in the second minute of the game before Babirye and Twesigye scored on succession to make it 3-0 before the 15th minute mark.

In the 18th minute, Namatovu made it 4-0 before completing her hat trick with a close range tap in five minutes into the second half.

Nakasato made it 6-0 in the 55th minute shortly after coming off the bench.

Namatovu was named the Elite League MVP of the season while Wakiso Hill striker Slyvia Namiwanda emerged the league top scorer with 13 goals.

Makerere’s Zahara Nankya was named the best goalkeeper.

The fair play award was won by Wakiso Hill.
