Paul Kamau put the Sharks ahead in the 43rd minute punishing a lethargic Sofapaka side who had wasted a number of chances earlier on.

Masoud Juma added a brace to triple the lead putting the game out of Sofapaka’s reach. Sofapaka pulled one back but was only enough to minimise the Sharks’ lead.

Ugandans Umaru Kasumba, Feni Ali and center back Jonathan Mugabi featured for the losing side. The Sharks who are in pursuit of a second semi final in two years will face Eldoret Youth FC in a Quarter final tie.

George Best Nsimbe’s Tusker beat Butterfly FC 4-1 courtesy of goals from David Mwangi, Brian Osumba, Paul Odhiambo and Michael Khamati while Dan Age scored a consolation for Butterfly.

Former Kira Young and The Saints defender Marlon Tangauzi featured for the Brewers alongside Hashim Sempala while defender Martin Kizza was named as a substitute.

George Nsimbe praised his players after their impressive collective performance.

“The boys played well. It’s the first time I have seen them play this kind of football. The possession, creation of chances and even scoring was on point. I think after the loss to Western Stima, the boys recollected themselves to gain courage for today’s match.”

Said the former KCCA fC and Vipers coach
