Express FC has today unveiled Shafik Bisaso as their new head coach on a two- year contract at the club’s offices in Mutundwe.
Bisaso was unveiled by Hajji Erias Serunjogi who is the acting Express chairperson since Hon. Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi took a two month break from office.
He replaces Douglas Bamweyana who was sacked last week on Thursday after a series of poor results.
Aware of his task ahead, Bisaso expressed his target this season in the new office.
“We have to improve the club’s performance and that can only achieved through uniting the players and working hand in hand with the technical bench to fulfill the task at hand.
“I have come alongside with my technical team that includes Robert Sekweyama who is good at match analysis and we shall also have a good scouting team which I prefer to remain anonymous.”
Bisaso comes along with his own technical stuff that includes Robert Sekweyama as his immediate deputy and Senyonga Yusuf as the goalkeepers’ coach formerly at Masavu FC. However, club legend Hassan Mubiru has been retained and will be part of the new technical team.
When asked on the inadequacies and demanding situations at Express, Bisaso said he is not moved.
“I am not at all intimidated by my new assignment. Ugandan football belongs to that corner of very many shortcomings. We just have to work on the things in the way they are. We are going to work together to give the fans results.”
His arrival comes in the eleventh hour as the Wankulukuku based outfit prepares to take on Police FC tomorrow and his former pay masters SC Villa two days later.
