Ugandan left back Shafik Batambuze has joined Tanzania second tier club Diamond Trust Bank (DTB) FC.

Batambuze joins DTB on a six month contract as a free agent after leaving Zambian topflight club Kabwe Warriors following the expiry of his one year contract.

Batambuze returns to Tanzania having previously played for Singida United in 2017-18.

The lanky left back is one of the experienced players expected to inspire DTB FC to a promotion to the Tanzanian topflight league.

He was also part of the Uganda Cranes squad that took part in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Gabon.

The club currently tops the Tanzanian Ligue 2 table with four points above second placed Ihefu FC.
