Nelson Senkatuka started from where he stopped last season, the skipper scored twice as Bright stars cruised to a convincing 3-1 victory over Maroons.

Senkatuka put the Mwererwe outfit in the lead through a penalty in the 11th minute after he was fouled by goalkeeper Eric Dhaira.

He almost grabbed a first half brace but unfortunately his header rattled the cross bar towards the mandatory break.

Two minutes into the second half, the inspirational captain got the second for the home side through another header from a Dan Birikwalira delivery.

Augustine Kacancu put the game to bed when he struck Bright Stars’ third goal of the day at the hour mark.

Kacancu was later sent off by referee Shamirah Nabadda for a second bookable offence deep in the second half.

New recruit Rashid Agau pulled one back for the George Nsimbe coached men inside the added minutes.

Bright Stars will be facing Nyamityobora FC in their next fixture on Wednesday 3rd – October at Muteesa II Stadium Wankulukuku as Maroons will host Vipers SC on Tuesday 2nd- October at Luzira Prisons Grounds
