Semifinal berth at stake as Villa host coachless Vipers

Two teams with contrasting problems will meet again tomorrow in the return leg of the Uganda cup quarter final at Bombo Military Grounds

Villa have not trained since the first leg last week following a sit down strike by the players who are demanding clearance of their salary arrears.

Vipers on the other hand come into the game fresh from losing their head coach Fred Kajoba who tendered his resignation after being asked to choose from either being the Cranes goal keeping coach or remaining Vipers head coach.

Assistant Paul Kiwanuka has been tasked to take see over the reminder of the season as a search for a new coach goes underway.

Villa hold a slight advantage coming into this tie after Ronald Sekiganda scored a late equaliser to give them an away goal.

Lawrence Tekikya had earlier on put Vipers in the lead. They now have to either win or force a high scoring draw to eliminate the 9 time champions.

The two teams have already met twice this term in the league with Vipers winning on both occasions 3-0 and 3-1 home and away.

Villa have been boosted by the return of the Sand Cranes duo of Emmanuel Wasswa and goal keeper Meddie Kibirige but it remains to be seen whether Kaziba will stick with the young Martin Senkooto in goal.

Defender Gavin Kizito has been ruled out of the tie through illness.

For Vipers SC, striker Mohammed Shaban may be unleashed to lead the search for goals. He has been serving a long suspension slapped on him by the club for disciplinary reasons.
