SC Villa trustees appoint club legal committee

The trustees of the Villa members trust having observed that there are inconsistencies in the governance documents of the Trust and the club.

A legal committee that reports to the club chairman, board of trustees has been set up to undertake the assignment.

MacDosman Kabega will head the legal committee that also comprises of former Villa Vice President Muhammad Bazirengedde, Isaac Walukagga and Alex Kibandama.

The development was confirmed in statement from the club signed by chairman Board of trustees Gerald Ssendawula.

For starters, following the suspension of Villa elections in August this year, members of the Congress sat and resolved that the registered VMTs be empowered to elect the club leadership as early as possible.

it was noted that Villa VMTs would go back to the ballot and the date of 23rd October was selected as the new election day.

Meanwhile, the appointed legal committee will handle the following:

•To Study and review the registered trust deed.
•To study and review club statutes.
•To identify contradictions, inconsisitencies, and violations of applicable national laws and FIFA, CAF and FUFA statutes (variously)
•To consult with various stakeholders were pertinent.
•To harmonise Trust deed at the club statutes.
•To present to the trustees the proposed amendments to the Trust Deed and Club Statutes
•To submit a final report of the Committee by the end of October
•To maintain confidentially throughout the assignment.
