SC Villa set to name Mayanja as new head coach

SC Villa are in advanced talks to name former Cranes international, KCCA FC and El- Marsy attacking midfielder Jackson Mayanja as the new head coach.

Mayanja will replace Wasswa Bbosa who left the club for Soana and it’s believed he is to sign a two year contract with the 16 league champions.

Reliable sources reveal that incumbent SC Villa president Eng. Ben Misagga opted for Mayanja because he wants a coach ready to build a formidable youth team and ready to challenge for trophies.

The former Kagera Sugar and Coastal Union tactician is set to be confirmed as the new man to take helms at the record champions this week.

Mayanja is also a former Bunamwaya ( now Vipers SC) coach and served as assistant coach to Dylan Kerr at Tanzania side Simba.

He also deputized Bobby Williamson during his reign as Cranes head coach. Mayanja won the league title with KCCA FC as a player and was also a joint top scorer in 1997.
