Villa went in front within only 14 minutes when Allan Drajua handled the ball inside the area and center referee Aisha Semambo made no mistake but to point to the spot. Martin Kizza did the business and Villa were into the lead.

Despite being accused of missing the highest number of chances for SC Villa this term, George Ssenkaba was up to task this time when a glorious opportunity presented itself to him after Allan Kyambadde’s shot was rebounded by Didi Mohammad and he stretched SC Villa’s lead.

Mukatabala who was sitting in for the suspended Wasswa Bbosa took a huge sigh of relief by stressing the importance of this victory as regards the title chase is concerned

The second period of the game saw Kirinya jinja SS dominate possession and trying to press for an opening but the Villa defence gave them no room to break through.

Simon Sserunkuma, Vitalis Tabu and Yubu Bogere came on for SC Villa replacing Ambrose Kirya, Allan Kyambadde and Martin Kizza respectively.

Charles Ayiekoh was however left unimpressed with the way Aisha Ssemambo and Co handled the game, and he claims they gave in to pressure too easily

“I am disappointed with the way our referees handle these games, she failed to call so many 50/50 decisions. The penalty was to cruel yet we had so many claims in the second period that were waved off”

He withdrew Anthony Mayanja for Isaac Ntege, and brought Faisal Muwawu on for the young Joel Madondo.

The victory puts SC Villa in second place, 2 points behind Vipers with 4 games to play. They will visit UPDF FC on 5th May for their next game
